This is a great preliminary study. It is unfortunate the sample group is so small. This could be a potential area of research that ParaNexus could conduct. Many of us investigators have recordings of possible rap responses. This type of evidence could be collected with no additional effort during their teams normal investigations. It is not that unusual of a phenomena. Our members obviously have recording equipment, so the question would be, do we have the appropriate software and expertise for this type acoustical review? If we could replicate the results of the first study on a larger scale, that would obviously take the significance of the evidence to a much higher level. I am very interested in hearing Dr. Irwin's opinion of this study.

Interesting article, I have never looked at 'taps and raps' that may be of a paranormal nature, that would certainly be an interesting exercise and a great learning curve.

The appropriate software and expertise to do further analysis is within ParaNexus as most of us have the software but I would think ParaNexus Consultant David Rountree would be the expert in the area of acoustic analysis/review of this sort of phenomena.

I agree, if  a group could replicate the results of the first study on a larger scale, it may be quite a significant study.

One big problem I see with this "study" is that it is done with uncontrolled paranormal investigations and with obviously outdated technology. The two cases (not a very big sample to come to a conclusion) used in his study, while popular, are both riddled with inaccuracies and debate about their claims and evidence. Raps and taps are great, but what about EVPs that are basically the same that are collected by hundreds of groups every weekend?
