Just another night in Paranormalville

« on: October 05, 2009, 06:36:40 PM »

Hi all,
It has been a couple of weeks since I have been on but Rockfish season is in. I recently have been contacted by two local groups that are very interested in my credentials especially with them not knowing that there is now a certification for investigators ( Of course I touted Paranexus Academy as the best one around for that ) I also found that our local community college has a course on Ghost Hunting. (I think I could teach that one). Anyway one group is 2 years old and the other is 7 years old I gotta drop names here Adventure Myth is the youngest and DCMAG has had 125 investigations since 2002. I just hope I pick the right one. Adventure Myth is in my town and DCMAG is based in Georgetown I think. All in all both groups are very knowledgable of the paranormal and neither would be a mistake to join and I guess I have to go with my gut feeling. Any suggestions.

Hey Dusty.  I'm so glad things are moving along for you.  I really don't think the size of the group or the number of investigations they have been on really matters.  Groups are constantly evolving, and may have changed their protocols.  If I were you, I would talk to both groups, possibly go on at least one investigation with each of them, and see which feels like a better fit.  Make your final decision then.  Enjoy your adventures!

Hi Dusty,

I think the most important part of picking which group to go with is what you are looking for?  Allow me to play devil's advocate for a moment  >Cheesy The larger group that has been around a while and has 200+ investigations would probably afford more opportunities to do investigations, but sounds like attending meetings may be more difficult due to distance.  On the other hand the smaller group is closer to your location which may make it more convenient to attend meetings and a higher probability of getting more established with the group but, the case load may be few and far between.   Huh?

Not sure if that helps any but if I were you go with your what your heart says. wave

I decided on my group and I am going with Adventure Myth's. I was readily excepted to become a member.

That's awesome Dusty.  From what I've seen of them, and they way they presented themselves during that interview, I think you've made a wise choice.
