To Our Forum-Only Members:

As of August 15, 2009, free forum-only memberships and registrations have been discontinued. Those who are currently forum-only members (not paid members) are invited to join ParaNexus as paid members by Sept. 15, 2009 by going to their Profile and processing membership dues. After September 15, 2009, all free forum accounts not converted to paid memberships will be deleted. Paid members have full access to all areas of the ParaNexus site.

The ParaNexus Administrative team has made this decision for a variety of reasons. ParaNexus is a serious and professional research association; it is not simply a typical paranormal social networking kind of site (although networking is an important benefit to members). Our mission is to discover answers to paranormal questions and, in the process, discover more about the human condition. Hence, ParaNexus is more of a professional association designed to attract serious researchers, professionals, and academics.

While ParaNexus does not exist to make a profit, the reality is that research costs money. Membership dues are the primary means of covering costs associated with operation, hosting the website, providing benefits to members, and furthering research. ParaNexus does not have a paid staff; all work is done graciously by volunteers. As of yet, we do not have any wealthy benefactors to subsidize operating costs, so we have to do the best we can with whatever options are available. ParaNexus membership dues are among the lowest of any association and offer many more benefits.

We take a lot of pride in ParaNexus. We constantly strive to maintain high standards and to be among the finest of organizations anywhere. We hope that you too will take pride in being a ParaNexus member! Whether you are currently a forum-only member or not, we encourage you as well as other researchers, academicians, professionals, and enthusiasts with a serious interest in anomalous phenomena to join ParaNexus as paid members in an effort to work together to discover answers to life's mysteries. And to those who are paid members, we are grateful for your continued support!

Please let us know if you have any questions regarding this change.
