Delhi, The capital of India was shocked on the morning of 1st july due to the mass death of 11 members of same family. It was first suspected as a murder due to the tied limbs but later found that it was a mass suicide. Lalit, the blabber of the house was suspected to be the mastermind of this mass suicide. Burari's case officer Mr. Tomar recalled the whole incident according to their death positions. On the first floor of the house, the bodies Bhavnesh Singh (50); his brother, Lalit Singh (45); their wives, Savita (48) and Tina (42) respectively; their children, Neetu (25), Monu alias Maneka (23), Dhruv alias Dushyant (15) and Shivam (15); their sister Pratibha alias Baby (48) and her daughter Priyanka (33) were found hanging in a circular formation; Pratibha was hanging a little away from the group. The mother, 77-year-old Narayan Devi, was found dead on the floor in the adjacent room. This is very hard to believe that this type of offence can happen just because of someone's influence. Lalit was the main person of the family and considered himself connected with his dead father. This all started some years ago. Lalit met an accident and lost his voice in it. After that like any miracle his voice came back and was considered to be because of his late father who helped him out of this accident. After that it was a routine that Lalit used to talk to his father in dreams and do whatever his father says. As Lalit was the head of the family, he took all the family members in to his influence. Accidentally all that Lalit used to suggest was proved to be beneficial for all the family and this made their belief strong. Lalit used to write dairy in which he used to write all the daily doings for his family and all the family members started accepting it. The mass suicide was also the part of this as he mentioned this incident in his diary. Lalit was suffering from a psychological problem by which he devloped a strong belief on his late father to direct him in life. Slowly he influenced all and the results were horrible. But my question is, Can influence be so strong that one can put his life in danger? I think this can be like a possession which destroyed Lalit's ability to think due to his strong belief. This case was firstly considered to be connected to paranormal and the demonology by the presence of number 11 in all the circumstances. There were 11 pipes in the wall with no reason considered to be the gateway for the spirits to come. Lalit's belief was that his father and other guardian spirits will come and save them from dying but that did not happened. By studying this case closely one can definitely say that there was no essence of any paranormal activity in it. This was purely an act of belief. Let me know what are your thinking on this case. |
